A mentorship-based chess program that develops critical thinking, confidence, leadership, and meaningful relationships across generations.
Chess is the doorway. Mentorship is the room. Kings & Mentors matches young people with adults from the neighborhood who show up every single week.
Players learn strategy, patience, and how to sit with a hard decision. Along the way they talk about school, family, pressure, and what comes next — with someone who listens.
The club competes in friendly matches with other Baltimore youth programs and travels to a regional tournament each spring.
